In 2022, each month, a group of loyal advocates gathered together for an online, interactive, training series. The monthly sessions were an opportunity for advocates to stay informed of the latest news on H.R. 3808 legislation, network with a team of patients, caregivers and legislation professionals, learn new patient advocacy skills (like effectively telling their own patient stories to state and local representatives), and, ultimately, become the best patient advocates possible. For our final advocacy session of the year, we had a lively conversation that allowed us to look towards the new Congress we will welcome in 2023 and how it will impact the Foundation’s advocacy work. Some highlights from our discussion included:
There is Still Time to Advocate for H.R. 3808 Before the Current Congressional Session Ends
Write to your Representative through our Advocacy Action Center before the end of the year!
All Outreach is Good Outreach
If you haven’t already, we encourage you to develop a relationship with your Representative’s office by writing letters or making phone calls to bring attention to H.R. 3808.
If you sent a letter this year, but haven’t heard back, follow-up! As a constituent, you deserve a response from your Representative.
Get to Know Your New Representative
If you have a new Representative for the 118th Congress, get to know them! In the new year, stop by their local office, give them a phone call, or write a letter through the action center to develop a relationship with them right away.
