In 2025, we established the Interdisciplinary Health Committee for GBS, CIDP, and MMN, a collaborative team of healthcare professionals dedicated to providing comprehensive, patient-centered care for individuals diagnosed with Guillain-Barré Syndrome (GBS), Chronic Inflammatory Demyelinating Polyneuropathy (CIDP), and Multifocal Motor Neuropathy (MMN).
The purpose of this committee is to provide guidance and resources beyond clinical diagnosis and beyond prescribed medical treatment. Challenges such as finding adaptive devices, navigating health insurance, or finding emotional support are all a part of the journey, and the IHC is there to assist. Most recently, the IHC, including two licensed social workers, a neurophysical therapist, a psychologist, and a mental health therapist, as well as a yoga therapist, was available for one-on-one sessions at our 2025 Symposium. The IHC have also been contributing to editorial content, webinars, community days, chapter meetings, and so much more.
