Frequently Asked Questions
What Is a Symposium?
Our symposium is a three-day event consisting of sessions led by our Global Medical Advisory Board physicians and related professionals. Our event will kick-off with a welcome celebration, we will have two full days of sessions, and then we will close with a closing reception where we announce the location of our next event!
Is a Symposium for me?
If you or someone in your life is living with GBS, CIDP or related conditions – the symposium is tailor-made for you! We are always evolving with our programming based on the needs of our community.
Is this for US only members?
NO! Our symposium is International, and many patients from outside of the US attend our event!
How many people attend a Symposium?
Our past Symposiums had record-breaking attendance with 575 members! We anticipate approximately 450 attendees at this event.
When can I register & what does that include?
Registration is now open!
Registration includes all sessions, our Thursday Welcome Reception, all on-site meals & breaks (with the exception of Friday night when members are on own for dinner – a great chance to visit downtown Denver!) and our closing celebration.
Registration does not include hotel accommodations – we do have a discounted room rate available at the Hyatt – Click here to reserve your discounted room!
Full Event (Thursday Night – Saturday Night) – Includes the full event (two welcome receptions, all sessions, breaks & lunch on Friday & Saturday. A welcome bag & tee shirt are also included. Friday dinner is on your own – please enjoy the local area!) Add an additional attendee during registration for a $25 discount!
Friday or Saturday Only – Choose either day if you cannot make the full event. Please note that Saturday is more expensive as it includes the closing reception.
Child & Teenager – Discounted rates for children & teens.
I cannot afford to attend – what are my options?
We’re excited to offer a limited number of Patient Scholarships, made possible by the generosity of our industry partners!
Each scholarship provides up to $1,000 USD in reimbursable funds to help cover your travel and hotel accommodations for the event. Recipients are responsible for booking their own hotel and transportation (flight/train) to the symposium.
Reimbursement will be processed after the event, once we receive your receipts. Please note, the scholarship is awarded to the named applicant only and cannot be transferred.
Scholarships are limited and priority will be given to first-time symposium attendees.
The Scholarship Application will close on Monday, May 12th, and recipients will be announced the following week.
Will I have time to meet other patients?
Yes! Offering enough time for you to connect is one of our top priorities! The theme of our opening celebration is “GBS|CIDP Block Party”. You will receive a tee-shirt in which the color represents the region of the country/world that you live in. We always build in time to hear & learn from other members.
When will sessions be announced?
We will announce sessions as they are confirmed in our monthly emails. The full schedule will be available by the spring but we promise – it’s going to be great!
What are Global Medical Advisory Board One on Ones and How Do I Sign Up?
These are private, 15-minute conversations with our Global Medical Advisory Board Physicians. We hope that these either reassure you of your care or point you in a better direction for the future. We will open registrations for this (space is limited!) a few months before the event. You must be registered for the full event to qualify, as we cannot promise a time slot or day. We will announce when this program’s sign up opens.
