Pietro Emiliano Doneddu, MD, is a neurologist, researcher, and Professor at Humanitas University (Hunimed), affiliated with Humanitas Clinical and Research Hospital in Milan, Italy. He completed his medical degree and neurology residency at the University of Sassari and received additional training in neuromuscular diseases and peripheral neuropathies at Catholic University of the Sacred Heart in Rome and King’s College Hospital in London. His research focuses on inflammatory and immune-mediated neuropathies, particularly chronic inflammatory demyelinating polyradiculoneuropathy (CIDP) and multifocal motor neuropathy (MMN), with interests spanning clinical epidemiology, electrophysiology, biomarkers, and diagnostic criteria. He coordinates the Italian study group on CIDP and MMN and is actively involved in international collaborative research initiatives. Dr. Doneddu serves on the Board of the Peripheral Nerve Society (PNS) and the Board of the ASNP (Italian Peripheral Nerve Society). He has authored numerous peer-reviewed publications on peripheral nerve disorders and contributes to multicenter studies aimed at improving the diagnosis and treatment of immune-mediated neuropathies.
