Advancing Patient Care and Research
Reflecting on the ongoing collaboration between him and the Foundation, Dr. Querol emphasized the vital role the foundation plays, both globally and locally, for patients navigating rare, and often-neglected diseases and conditions:
“The GBS|CIDP Foundation International is a crucial organization for our patients. They have been instrumental in funding our fantastic early-career scientists that have made important discoveries in a field that is lacking basic biologists and dedicated clinician-scientists. The Foundation has helped us better understand the pathogenicity of autoantibodies in chronic autoimmune neuropathies, the role of blood and digital biomarkers for precision monitoring in GBS and CIDP and has funded groundbreaking research on the changes that peripheral nerves undergo when inflamed. When reflecting on a recent visit to his facilities in Barcelona, Dr. Querol further shared, “I was honored for the opportunity to show Foundation leadership directly the tangible effect their support has had on our junior researchers, which shape the future of the field.”
Please join us in celebrating Dr. Querol’s new appointments as we continue our shared mission to improve the lives of individuals affected by GBS, CIDP, MMN, and related conditions worldwide.
