Guillain-Barré Syndrome Emergency Relief Program

Making an Impact for RARE: Guillain-Barré Syndrome Emergency Relief Program

The Guillain-Barré Syndrome (GBS) Emergency Relief Program provides critical financial assistance to individuals and families facing unexpected hardship related to GBS. Established through the generosity of the GBS/CIDPFoundat ion International, the program helps eligible individuals manage urgent, non-medical expenses that cannot be afforded without short -term support. GBS often occurs suddenly and can result in prolonged hospitalization, extensive rehabilitation, temporary disability, and loss of income. During recovery, families may face significant financial pressures that extend beyond medical bills. The program serves as a financial safety net, helping patients and caregivers maintain stability during some of the most challenging periods of their lives. NORD is honored to administer this program on behalf of the GBS|CIDP Foundation International and support its commitment to improving the lives of individuals and families affected by GBS.

Since 2022, the program has assisted 193 individuals and families, helping them maintain housing, transportation, and other essential needs during periods of crisis. Continued support helps ensure that individuals and families affected by GBS do not face financial emergencies alone. Alone
