To recognize International Plasma Awareness Week and educate their community about the need for plasma donations, students and staff at Meredith College in Raleigh, North Carolina held a Project Plasma awareness event on October 4th. Meredith’s Marketing and Communications Office and Student Wellness Organization hosted a tabling event where they handed out educational materials and spoke to the community about the importance of plasma donations to create life-saving treatments for patients with rare diseases. They were joined by Grifols’ staff from their local donation center who were able to speak about the plasma donation process, which differs from whole blood donation.
Students and staff of Meredith College held their Project Plasma event as a way to acknowledge a colleague who has Multifocal Motor Neuropathy (MMN). To continue raising awareness, they will have a Meredith Angels team at the upcoming Raleigh Walk & Roll on Saturday, October 21st. You can register for the Raleigh walk here.
We look forward to continuing our collaboration with Meredith to raise awareness about plasma!
