May is GBS|CIDP Awareness Month

May is GBS|CIDP Awareness Month around the world!  This year we spreading awareness and support through new and innovative programming, including the Be the Bridge Awareness Campaign directed to Healthcare Professionals. Additionally we are launching a New Advocacy Training series, and an Ask the Expert Presentation, you will not want to miss, regarding adapting to a New Normal with GBS|CIDP & Resilience through most challenging of times.

Be the Bridge Awareness Program for Healthcare Professionals

Patients and caregivers around the world have reported that finding a local medical professional who specializes in treating and offering ongoing support, is one of their top challenges. This May we encourage you to join us in our continuous commitment that no one travels this journey alone, and that everyone receives the best possible care.  On May 1, the Foundation will launch Be the Bridge for GBS|CIDP, a new and on going Foundation awareness program, designed for professionals in the field of healthcare including, but not limited to:

Neurologists (muscle & nerve focus)
Physician Assistants
Physical & Occupational Therapists
Primary Care Physicians
Nurses & Nurse Practitioners
Infusion Nurses
Social Workers & Community Health Workers
Specialty Pharmacists
Hospital Case Workers
Mental Health Professionals
Alternative Health Care Professionals

Be the Bridge for GBS CIDP

The Be the Bridge program will provide healthcare professionals with a web portal that includes educational materials, webinars, and virtual meetups for their patients as well as opportunities for medical professionals to connect with members of the Foundation’s Global Medical Advisory Board.

Are you a Healthcare Professional caring for patients with GBS, CIDP, MMN or related conditions?

May 10, Dr. Dan Gottlieb – Living with a New Normal

On May 10 family psychologist, author and radio host (WHYY Voices in the Family), Dr. Dan Gottlieb, Ph.D., will present a heartfelt message of hope and offer positive ways to stay resilient while adapting to a new normal. Dr. Dan’s presentation will be shared via email and social media, and will be published on the Foundation’s Ask the Expert videocast portal.

About Dr. Dan Gottlieb

In 1979, Dr. Dan Gottlieb was in a near fatal automobile accident that left him paralyzed from the chest down. As expected, there were years of despair and depression. He has learned valuable lessons about what it means to be human and how adversity can teach us how to live better and love better. We are pleased to have him join us this May and share his message of resilience and hope in challenging times.
