Djembe therapy- get your groove on!

Hello Folks!
I’m an amateur crappy musician who greatly misses creating music. I borrowed a djembe (African hand-drum) and have been playing beats along with music. Can’t say if it has therapuitic value but it’s fun and challenging! As well, I can tailor the workout to go along with my moods. Tool’s cds Lateralus and 10,000 Days are faves when I’m p***ed-off.
Try this out with your favourite tunes. I suggest that you try to find the pulse rather than jump in grooving. I find it is easier to get to a beat.
My wife even said that I was sounding good the other day (this was after telling me how much she thinks Tool sucks). I think it even brought back a bit of mojo.
Enjoy!!

I swear this is good therapy. Yesterday I played for an hour and felt great after. Flapping my hands helps beat the pins nand needles. Even using other techniques such as scratching/rubbing the drum head feels good and must be stimulating nerve growth.
Even if you just use a firm pillow for a hand-drum i suggest you give it a try! Paul Simon and Peter Gabriel have wonderful tracks to play along to for those who like their tunes a little lighter than me. Really anything with a good groove can work.
