Found Out From The Cdc Today, That Flu And H1n1 Shot Will Be All In One This Year

I don’t want to frighten you, but I developed all of my symptoms last November after the H1N1 shot. You can see my lengthy original post under the Vaccine forum. I will probably not be giving my family flu shots this year, particularly because they include the H1N1. There have been at least 5 other people on this forum that developed severe reactions after the H1N1 shot as well as the regular flu shot. We are in a small minority, 1 in 100,000 or 1 in a million, but we exist. I strongly believe that we will see more reactions this year with people getting the flu shot combined with the H1N1. It is up to you, of course, but I just wanted you to be aware of this. I know a lot of people who got the shot, including my other family members, with no problem. My coworkers all decided against getting the shot after seeing me emaciated and stumbling around here.

The main issue is that if you have any underlying conditions or a compromised immune system that you are not aware of, it can trigger issues potentially. Our bodies have latent viruses that can be triggered and then it causes ongoing inflammation. Had I known any of this, I would have steered clear of the flu shot and taken my chances.

The flu shot is like playing with a loaded gun. The flu from last year is the only flu you are suppose to be protected from. A new flu this year you will be like every one else. and it has been proven if you have a flu shot it will make a new flu not as bad (BULL)over 97% of medical people walk away from this shot.I worked in a hospital for 20 yrs and never got the flu and never took a shot till I retired. This is what I love about our site….you have caring people give you their truth and then you can decide. I cannot remember getting more than one flu shot in my life and that was at least 40 years ago. I have taught school for most of those years and survived without one. There are plenty of things you can take to keep your immune system healthy to fight off any flu or colds…echinacea, golden seal, oregano, olive leaf, pau d’arco, elderberry and Vitamin C capsules. PLus eat well, cut out as much sugar as you can, get plenty of sleep, stay out of crowds when you hear sneezing and coughing, and wash your hands. You and your family Can be in control. Don’t put as much faith in these shots. They might not have made that much of a difference anyhow.
The Associated Press article yesterday said the inoculation promises “protection against that swine flu strain plus two other kinds of influenza.” They recommend this “near-universal vaccination” for everyone “except babies younger than 6 months” and those wth egg allergies.
Watch and see if they don’t start using a Scare tactic. Do you suppose they are including the H1N1 because they had tons of it left over from last year??? I would not put it past the greedy pharmaceutical companies to do this. So keep a positive attitude and don’t let them scare you. Perhaps one of the benefits of having had GBS is that we have this forum to share the truth.

I had my flu shot at the beginning of January but developed GBS symptoms at the very end of May. I still do not see the link in my case and no doctors or anybody else from GBS/CIDP FI believe that was the cause.

I will however (on everybody’s advice-including my doctors) not be getting one this year. I agree with Carolyn that a lot can be done through better health.

However, I do have a dilemma. I have had a flu shot every year in the last decade because of being hit every prior year by the bug. I did miss it one year and guess what, I was hit by the flu. This could all be coincidence but is hard to see (especially for me, no faith of any kind here-I gotta see it to believe it).

Also, as I sit here looking at my sons’ meningitis prescriptions all of this is starting to freak me out a bit. Can the GBS reaction happen (1 in a 1 000 000 of course) through any type of vaccination?:confused:

I can’t answer your question about whether any vaccination can trigger GBS, maybe some of the resident medical professionals and nurses on here can address that.

I just wanted to mention that one of my doctors told me that 4 days after the shot was too soon to develop an immune-mediated response, which I don’t agree with, but I did have the seasonal flu vaccine in Sept and developed my symptoms in November. An attorney I was talking with told me that as long as it is 10 weeks after, I think she said, then it can be connected. My seasonal flu shot was at the end of Sept and the symptoms began in mid November so I am in the window. You may be too. The attorney is going to look into both govt programs for me as far as vaccine compensation, the VICP (seasonal flu) and the CICP (H1N1). Just wanted to throw that out there.

And every doc that I have gone to has tried to discount the relationship between the vaccine and my symptims, trying to blame it on a virus or something else. Maybe they are trained to plug vaccines and not blame them. I have been to 6 neuros and 2 rheumas and all of them hem and haw about this. Fact of the matter is I was perfectly fine before all of this and I am not now. There is no doubt in my mind that it was caused by one if not both of these flu vaccines.

Please keep up to date with the attorney’s findings. I am by my estimation out of the window at 10 weeks (if that is the legal criteria) as I think I am more likely 15 weeks.

If it’s a conspiracy then it is well-kept by the medical community’s solid wall defense. Even the GBS/CIDP FI recommend getting flu shots in their literature.

I smell a class action suit…..please keep me informed. Still wondering about other vaccinations and my kids. Some are mandatory for them to be able to go to school.

Did I understand you to say that 47% of polio cases were GBS? The cases back in the 1950’s? If so, then all I can say is WOW! How did you learn about this and where can I go to read more?? They do call GBS “French polio”. Do you think that both polios are perhaps viral but different strains of it? I find what you said about this fascinating. I agree on what you said about the CDC…I would add the FDA. People are too trusting. Perhaps these organizations were fine years ago….my nephew is a fireman/EMT and he told me if I ever needed to go to an ER to sign in with my own pen (not one that sick people have used) and wait outside…away from the germs in the waiting room…they cannot possibly wipe those down either. Loved your input….please tell us more about the polio cases.

I think the conspiracy level would be with the higher ups like the drug companies….the doctors are taught by the pharmaceutical reps so I blame their complicity on laziness and ignorance. If I could read the books exposing the pharmaceuticals for the poison that they really are, why can’t they?? It is Their expertise!!! If doctors are going to get the respect and big bucks, then they should become the expert and advocate for you, the Patient!!!
If you think the drugs are tailored for the disease..then WHY are there so many side effects???? Think of it this way…if your house is on fire, the fireman will drench your house and belongings in water…..a quick but necessary fix. But many of your belongings are smoke or water damaged. That, to me, is what prescription drugs do. The key is to not need them. That is why I take tons of supplements and try and eat well..to avoid a quick fix. WHen people are put on statins and other drugs for chronic conditions, that is like the fireman coming daily and dousing some of your house……just in case a fire might start…doing damage to your stuff a little at a time but not really needed. Better, healthier ways are what is needed to stay away from the quck fix.

FYI The latest flu strain is H3N2v Here’s some general information:

Influenza A viruses circulating in pigs that have infected humans are referred to as “variant” viruses. Human infections with an influenza A (H3N2) variant (H3N2v) virus that contains the M gene from the influenza A(H1N1)pdm09 virus (2009 H1N1 pandemic virus) were first detected in 2011. Of note, a large increase in cases of H3N2v virus infection has been identified since July 2012. (This virus has been circulating among pigs in the United States since 2011, has been detected in pigs in many states, and appears to be circulating widely in swine in the United States.) Most H3N2v cases have been in children, although some adults have been infected, and are linked to recent direct or indirect exposure to pigs.

To date, almost all of the H3N2v cases in 2012 have been epidemiologically linked to agricultural fairs, either through exhibiting pigs or walking through a swine barn. Occupational exposure to pigs was reported in 1 case. Limited, nonsustained human-to-human transmission of H3N2v virus was noted in 2011, including in households and a childcare setting. Since 2011, a small number of H3N2v case patients have been hospitalized, including previously healthy people and people with chronic underlying conditions. To date, no deaths have occurred and all cases have recovered fully. CDC is monitoring the situation closely with state health departments and will issue updates accordingly as additional information becomes available.
